AGU Member Categories and Dues

Member Categories

Member: Any individual who is professionally engaged in or associated with the geophysical sciences may become a Member of AGU.

  • Student rate is available to members who are enrolled at least half-time in a degree-granting program for the current year. This status must be confirmed each year by a faculty member. Membership status may be changed by payment of full member dues.
  • Life membership is available to an individual who meets the requirements for regular membership and pays a one- time payment. Life Members or Life Fellows of AGU should use the online form to renew or order journals, contribute to the Union’s funds, or update their member records.
  • Supporting membership is available to anyone making a contribution to the Voluntary Contribution Campaign of $120 or more. As a Supporting Member you pay regular dues plus the Supporting Member contribution for the category you select. You may choose to direct up to half of your Supporting Member contribution to one or more of the special funds. A description of each fund is provided so that contributions may be directed to the activities you wish to support. Undesignated gifts are welcome at any time. You can become a Supporting Member by making a gift.
