Authors and Affiliations

In order to correctly specify the addresses of multiple authors, you should indicate a) the number of authors and b) the number of affiliations.

For each author, enter the name (initials and family name only, e.g. J H Smith). Optionally, an e-mail address, phone number, and fax number may be entered for each author. The fax number will not be printed on the preview or in the abstract volume.

'Affiliations' are the unique department, agency, or location information that could be used to contact one or more authors. Each author must be 'affiliated' with one or more of these addresses.

When the author information is entered, you must select the affiliation(s) that correspond to that author. Affiliations can be entered in any order, but

For example, a paper with three authors is submitted. One of the authors works at "A Government Agency", another works at "A Major University", and the third works part-time at both. In this case, choose "3" authors and "2" affiliations. For the third author, select both affiliations.

A second expample: Four authors, all at "A Major University". Two are associated with "The Physics Department" and two with "The Geosciences Department". In this case, choose "4" authors, and either "1" affiliation (the university), or "2" affiliations.
