The AGU Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology Focus Group is pleased to sponser the following events and sessions at the 2011 Fall AGU Meeting:

The Cesare Emiliani Lecture: Dr. Henry Elderfield, University of Cambridge, will present, "What a Single Celled Organism Can Tell Us About Climate History: A Status Report On Paleocean Proxies With Examples" on Monday December 5 at 10:20 AM. The Emiliani Lecture will be held in Moscone South, Room 104.

Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology Business Meeting/Reception: The P&P Focus Group and Ocean Sciences reception will be held at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis, Golden Gate Salons C1-C2 on Tuesday December 6 from 6:30-8:00 PM.

We plan to highlight student presentations at the Fall meeting with a continuous slide show on 2 large screens during the reception. We ask all student presenters in PP and OS sessions to fill out the 2-slide ppt template outlining the golden nuggets of the science they plan to share --- this includes presenters of both posters and oral presentations.  Then send your completed template back to Devon Colcord  by Thursday, 1 December, 12 noon EST. We will compile the all of the presentations and display them continuously during the reception.

Abstract submission site for the 2011 Fall AGU meeting in San Francisco, CA on December 5-9 is now open. Please note the early August 04, 2011 abstract submission deadline.

The 2011 Fall AGU meeting will be held in San Francisco, CA on December 5-9. Please note the early August 04, 2011 abstract submission deadline. More meeting information will be available in late May.

The biennial Ocean Sciences Meeting will be held at the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City, Utah, in February 2012. Session proposals are due May 16, 2011 and can be submitted here.

The Cesare Emiliani Lecture: Dr. David Hodell, University of Cambridge, will present, "Abrupt climate change during the Last Ice Age from the perspective of 17°N, 90°W" on Thursday December 16 at 8:45 AM. The Emiliani Lecture will be held in the Gateway Ballroom, Room 103 (Moscone South).

A mini-symposium will be held at the International Conference on Paleoceanography 2010 in San Diego on Sunday Aug. 29th 1230-1600 on the present and future of Ocean Drilling.
