We were renamed "Cryosphere Focus Group" in 2002, replacing the former Snow, Ice and Permafrost Technical Committee. We have gown in strength since this change, reflected in a significant increase in contributions at the AGU Fall Meeting: from 120 abstracts in 5 sessions in 2002 to 865 abstracts in 68 sessions in 2012. In 2012, there are over 1000 AGU members who chose Cryosphere as their primary affiliation.
The goal of this web site is to make relevant and timely information available to the cryospheric science community. The site is updated regularly and you will find highlights of AGU developments of interest to cryospheric scientists as well as opportunities to give your input into AGU and Cryosphere Sciences Focus Group activities.
The Focus Group is managed by an Executive Committee, who are in regular communication over email and meet once per year during the Fall meeting. |
