More information: The Near-Surface Geophysics Focus Group supports the development and application of geophysical methods to study the near-surface region (top ~100 m) of Earth. First organized in 2006, our primary objective is to build an AGU community where researchers involved with near-surface geophysical methods, regardless of the specific application, can discuss and advance the fundamental science of geophysical imaging (data acquisition, inversion, interpretation). We will interact closely with AGU sections where near-surface geophysics can be used to address key questions about subsurface properties and processes. This article  in the June 20 2006 EOS described this new focus group including the purpose of this area as a separate group, a number of cross-correlations with other areas and various objectives of the group.

To join this Focus Group, log into the AGU through their update member record link. Under the "Membership Record" select "Near Surface Geophysics" as your primary or "other" affiliation under the "Areas of Scientific Interest" section.
