Social Events

Students can take advantage of the NS student network to organize social event not only at AGU, but at other meeting or workshops attended by NS members. If you are attending an upcoming meeting and are interested in organizing a casual student gathering, please contact the NS Student Representative to advertise an event here. Events at Fall AGU 2009

  • Impromptu Student Lunches (daily from Moscone West at 12:35)
    This year at AGU, we would like to try out a simple idea to encourage interaction among NS students -- impromptu lunch outings.  We've chosen a central location where students can meet up after the morning sessions and head out for lunch together.  Just make your way to the bottom of the staircase at the NE corner of Moscone West by 12:35.  Students will congregate there and figure out where they want to grab lunch together.  Some days, maybe most days, you won't have time or will have other things planned, but hopefully we can end up with a small group each day that can enjoy a quick bite together.

  • Student Evening Social Event (Brickhouse Cafe and Bar 12/17 @ 7:00)
    Come join your fellow NS students for a casual evening out on Thursday at 7:00. The Brickhouse Cafe & Bar is just a short 10 minute walk from the Moscone center. Meet other students and get a sense of the incredibly eclectic membership within the NS Focus Group.
