Sections and focus groups of AGU also recognize individuals that have contributed meritorious work or service toward the advancement of the geophysical sciences. Honorees are selected by award committees that are appointed by Section and Focus Group Executive committees. Section and focus group leadership salute recipients during award presentations, held at various AGU annual meetings.
