My primary area of interest is the process of continental rifting leading to breakup and the formation of oceanic spreading ridges using potential fields and seismic methods. Recent projects include seismicity and structural analyses of the East African rift system in Ethiopia (Projects AFAR, EAGLE) and local and teleseismic studies of lithospheric structure beneath the Gulf of Aden (ENCENSII).
