This award seeks to recognize an individual scientist or a small team for making an outstanding contribution to furthering the Earth and space sciences and using science for the benefit of society in less favored nations.
The award is open to all regardless of nationality or citizenship. Nominees must be living at the time of their nomination. Any individual or small group working together in the Earth and space science community who has contributed substantially to the understanding or development of our science across national boundaries is eligible for this award. Priority will be given to individuals.

The selection will be made by a committee appointed by AGU President.
Nominations for the 2007 award must be received at AGU headquarters by 15 October 2007.
