In alignment with the priority objectives of AGU's strategic plan, AGU will not provide printed programs for the Chapman conferences. Instead, you may access real-time, detailed presentation information via the on-line itinerary planner (IP). Additionally, on-line evaluation surveys will be sent via email before the final day of the conference."
News Media Workshop
Taking Science Beyond the Scientific Community (included in registration fee)
Thursday, 14 June, 1300h–1500h
Attendance will be limited
Whether it's through television, radio, magazines, or blogs, the media is the key source of science news for many people. Help the news media notice fascinating and important work in your field and report it accurately. At this free, interactive workshop, presented by AGU staff and professional science journalists, learn how to convey your science — and its importance — in a clear, effective and meaningful way. The workshop will include tips on how to talk with members of the media, a preview of what to expect during interviews, ways to identify and eliminate jargon, an overview of communication resources, and more!
For additional information, contact Kate Ramsayer, Strategic Communications and Outreach.
