This conference promises to be even better than previous workshops of either the West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) Project or the Filchner-Ronne Ice Sheet Programme (FRISP). It will bring together the WAIS and FRISP communities for the first time and will include additional "outside" experts with new and interesting perspectives. Special interest meetings are being planned for Siple Dome ice coring and for coordination of future research in the Pine Island region.
Conference Themes and Objectives
The conference format will retain the successful mix of oral presentations grouped by topic (not discipline), including panel-led discussions that link individual contributions and enable a multi- disciplinary dialogue. Poster presentations also will be utilized with considerable time for breaks, informal conversations and poster discussion.
