Annapolis, on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay, is the seat of both the state and county government. It is a city with a rich Colonial history and is home to a wide variety of cultural arts, outdoor and boating activities, and the U.S. Naval Academy. During your visit, wander through the historic district, watch the sailboats in the Bay or eat a crab cake in one of the area's fine restaurants!
All sessions will be held in the Governor Calvert House Conference Center. Check the program listing for more details about the technical program.

Registration Information 
REGULAR: $265.00
STUDENT: $120.00
The registration fee includes admission to all oral and poster sessions, daily refreshment breaks, admission to the opening reception on Monday, April 19, and the conference dinner on Tuesday, April 20. A $25.00 late fee will be charged for any registrations received after Monday, March 15, 1999. There are no one-day or prorated fees for this conference.
To register for the conference, complete the registration form and fax it to AGU at 202-328-0566. We encourage you to register in advance as space is limited. All registration materials (including receipts) will be available at the meeting for those who have registered in advance.
Cancellations: A written notice of cancellation must be received at AGU by April 4, 1999 in order to receive a full refund. Cancellations received between April 5 and April 11 will have a $20.00 processing fee deducted from the refund. No refunds will be issued if the cancellation notice is received after April 11. Cancellation notices should be sent to Johanna Merryman via e-mail at jmerryman@agu.org or via fax at 202-328-0566.
The deadline for requesting housing reservations in the reserved room block has passed.

If you need reservations, please contact Johanna Merryman, AGU Meetings Secretary, by e-mail at jmerryman@agu.org or by telephone at 202-462-6900 ext. 291. Reservations will be made at the Historic Inns of Annapolis on a space available basis at prevailing rates.
If you sent a housing reservation request form to AGU, your request was forwarded to the Historic Inns of Annapolis. Hotel confirmation numbers were sent out by AGU for requests received by the housing deadline. If you did not receive your confirmation, please feel free to check with us at jmerryman@agu.org or 202-462-6910 ext. 291.
Cancellations/Changes: Any cancellations or changes to reservations must be sent by April 14, 1999 to Johanna Merryman via e-mail at jmerryman@agu.org or via fax to 202-328-0566. After April 14, cancellations or changes should be made by contacting the Historic Inns of Annapolis via fax at 410-268-3813 or by telephone at 410-263-2641 or toll-free at 1-800-847-8882. One night's lodging will be charged to your credit card only if the cancellation request is received by the Historic Inns of Annapolis less than 72 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival.

Travel Information 
There are three major airports that service the Annapolis area.

If flying into Baltimore/Washington International Airport, you may call 410-859-0800 to make shuttle reservations through SuperShuttle. Reservations must be made at least two hours in advance. A one-way fare will cost approximately $19.00 while the roundtrip fare will cost approximately $30.00.
If flying into Reagan National Airport or Dulles International Airport, you may call 1-800-258-3826 to make shuttle reservations through SuperShuttle or visit the SuperShuttle booth located at the airport. Rates will vary.
Auto rental agencies are located at all airports for those interested in renting cars. Taxi services are also available.
Parking in Annapolis can be a challenge. Valet parking is available with overnight accommodations for $12.00 per day, with in-and-out privileges. A loading zone is in front of the Governor Calvert House. Parking for day guests is available at the Municiple Parking Garage, Noah Hillman Garage, located on Duke of Gloucester St., just one block past Conduit St. on the left.
BY CAR:
Directions, if driving to the Historic Inns of Annapolis . . .
From the Washington DC metro area, take Route 50 East for approximately 22 miles. Take Exit 24 (Historic District) which is Rowe Blvd/Rt. 70. Follow Rowe Blvd. to the end which will be the Historic State House. Turn left onto College Ave. Make first right onto North Street. Make a right onto State Circle. Approximately halfway around Circle you will reach the Governor Calvert House on your right, 58 State Circle.
From Baltimore, take Interstate 97 South toward Annapolis. Interstate 97 South connects to Route 50 East. Follow Route 50 East to Exit 24 (Historic District). Follow directions from the above paragraph, beginning with follow Rowe Blvd. to the end.
From Delaware, take Interstate 95 South towards the Delaware Memorial Bridge. Follow to Route 301 South which will connect to Route 50 West. Follow Route 50 West across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge. Continue on Route 50 West across the Severn River Bridge. Take Exit 24A Rowe Blvd./Rt. 70. Follow directions from follow Rowe Blvd. to end, two paragraphs above.
