         Post your resume, view job ads, meet with employers, and hear the latest statistics on jobs and careers in the geosciences. Moscone Center Hall D. Open 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday; 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM Friday.

     Academic Forum

         Explore geoscience graduate degree programs from over 20 academic institutions. Monday through Friday, Hall D.

     Student Lounge

         A special lounge for sharing ideas regarding geoscience education programs and a "Students Only" lounge will be available near the Academic Forum and Career Center in Hall D. Open all week during Career Center hours.

Monday

     Career Planning Workshop

         The AGU Committee on Education and Human Resources is sponsoring a workshop on job-hunting skills and strategies specifically designed for scientists. Topics will include identifying your skills and career goals, career alternatives for scientists, structuring your job search, and researching the job market. Participants also will receive reference materials on job and fellowship opportunities and job-hunting skills.
There is no charge for the workshop, but you must pre-register at the Career Center in Hall D in order to reserve materials. Monday, 10 December, 7:00 - 8:30 PM, Moscone Center Room 300.

Wednesday

     ExxonMobil Morning Mixer for Students

         Students registered for the meeting can talk with AGU Council and Section leaders, including Union President Marcia McNutt, and hear about AGU's programs for students. A free continental breakfast will be available. Wednesday, 12 December, 7:00 - 8:30 AM, Marriott Hotel (Golden Gate A). Sponsored by ExxonMobil.

Thursday

     How to Become a Congressional Fellow or Mass Media Fellow and Why?

         Current and past fellows from both of these programs will share their experience and answer your questions. Thursday, 13 December, 1200h to 1300h, Moscone, Room 232/234. Space is limited. Lunch provided (first come, first serve).
