Hotel Accommodations

AGU has reserved a block of rooms at a wide selection of hotels in downtown San Francisco, near the Moscone Center, that will suit a variety of budgets and tastes. While many of the hotels are within walking distance of the Moscone Center, limited round-trip shuttle service from several hotels to the Moscone Center will be provided for your convenience. Shuttle schedules will be posted in the hotel lobbies and at the Moscone Center.

Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. After 5 November reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis only, and rates are subject to change. Rooms fill up quickly, so we advise you to make your reservations early.

Deposit Information: Hotel reservations cannot be processed or confirmed by Convention Management Resources (CMR) without providing credit card deposit information for hotel billing in the amount of $125 or a deposit check made payable to CMR, not payable to the hotel or AGU, in the amount of $125 per room, $300 per suite. IMPORTANT: CMR will forward all individual credit card deposit information to the hotel for processing in the amount of $125 prior to guest arrival. Check deposits will appear as a credit on the individual's guest hotel folio.

Confirmation

Within 72 hours of requesting a hotel, you will receive confirmation of the housing reservation by mail or fax. Any reservation change or cancellation will prompt the system to generate a new confirmation notice. Please carefully review the information on your confirmation notice for accuracy and bring it with you to San Francisco. NOTE: You will not receive a confirmation from the hotel.

Changes, Cancellations, and Refund Policies

All changes, cancellations, and requests for refunds must be received by CMR 72 hours prior to arrival in order to avoid forfeiture of your hotel deposit. Hotels have been selected on the basis of location, availability, price, safety, and desirability.

Shuttle Bus Service

Shuttle service will be provided Friday, 6 December, through Tuesday, 10 December, 7:30-9:30 A.M. and 4:30-6:00 P.M. to and from all hotels, except the Marriott and Argent hotels. Schedules and pickup locations will be posted in all hotel lobbies and the Moscone Center. Taxis are also available and are reasonably priced.

Airline Discounts

Save money on your domestic travel costs to San Francisco on United Airlines! You will receive a 5% discount off the lowest applicable discount fare, including first class, or a 10% discount off midweek coach fares purchased 7 days in advance. If purchasing at least 60 days in advance of the travel dates, you receive an additional 5% discount off the already discounted or special fare.

Travel Insurance

Participants traveling from outside the United States may wish to purchase accident and medical insurance protection during their visit to San Francisco. Seabury and Smith, an association service organization, offers coverage through its Gateway USA program. Insurance must be purchased for a minimum of 15 days, up to a maximum of 60 days.
