Communicating Your Science To The Public

A Free Workshop at the Fall Meeting

Registration for this workshop has closed.

  • Learn from journalists, public information officers, and others how to convey research findings and their significance to the public both clearly and simply.
  • Get feedback (and give feedback) as you and other scientists test your communication skills on fellow workshop participants.
  • Share ideas and resources -- and form enduring relationships -- with colleagues who also care about connecting with the public.
  • Find out about ways to fulfill "broader impact" requirements of grants.

When: Sunday, 14 December 2008 (the day before scientific sessions begin) from approximately 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (exact location and times to be decided). Breakfast and lunch will be served.

Where: San Francisco Marriott Hotel, 55 4th St

Who: AGU members who are scientists or engineers. Early career researchers and graduate students particularly welcome.
