December 18-19, 2008 (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM)
Room 120 at Moscone North
San Francisco, California

In December 2008, more than 16,000 Earth and space scientists from around the world will attend the AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco and you can benefit from this scientific gathering!

Scientists from 63 nations are weathering extreme conditions to push the frontiers of knowledge about the Earth system and the way the Polar Regions are changing. This GIFT workshop will bring some of these researchers to discuss their findings, share their enthusiasm, and present their science ready to use in your classroom.

  • Are you a current or pre-service middle or secondary school teacher interested in learning about the latest in polar and cryospheric research?

  • Are you and your students curious about the global consequences of climate change on the Arctic and Antarctic?

  • We are pleased to invite you to participate in this 2-day workshop for middle and secondary school teachers! Leading scientists and science educators will participate in this workshop.

The Fall 2008 GIFT Workshop is free for participating teachers who register by Friday 5 December, 2008. Space is limited to 60 participants on a first-come, first-serve basis, so be sure to register early.
