The Moscone Center
All Fall Meeting scientific sessions will take place at the Moscone Center's West and South buildings, located at the edge of the city's dynamic South of Market district and just four blocks from Union Square, the city's vibrant shopping district and the Powell Street cable car to Nob Hill, Chinatown and Fisherman's Wharf.

Note that the discount is not available via Internet. Please be sure to refer to Convention Fare Code X81W-961 when making reservations. This offer is not valid on the Auto Train and Acela Service. Fare is valid on Amtrak Regional for all departures seven days a week, except for holiday blackouts. In addition to getting around the city, BART has direct service to both the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) and the Oakland International Airport (OAK). It is a convenient, inexpensive and fast way to get to San Francisco for the AGU Fall Meeting. The SFO BART station is located in the International Terminal and the fare is only $8.10 to downtown San Francisco. The OAK Service connects to the Coliseum station via the AirBART shuttle bus ($3) and a BART ticket to San Francisco is only $3.80.
For easy directions from the airport to your hotel go to, The Quickplanner at www.bart.gov. Click the Station tab, select San Francisco International Airport or Coliseum/Oakland Airport station from the station list. Next click the Address tab on the Arriving At? box and input your hotels address. The closest BART station, directions and a map to your hotel will be displayed.
BART directions from SFO
The BART station is connected to the SFO International (Intl) Terminal. It’s a five to ten minute walk from terminal 3 to BART. The walk from terminal 1 is a little longer. You can also take the free SFO Airtrain from the terminals directly to the BART station. Passengers arriving at the International terminal should turn right upon leaving customs and follow the signs to the escalator up to the departure level. Follow the sign at the top of the escalator to the station. Take the San Francisco bound train. The round trip from SFO is only $16.20 and only takes 25 minutes. Make your trip easier; get your BART tickets in advance.
BART directions from OAK
Go to the AirBART shuttle stop on the traffic island and take the AirBART bus. Deposit $3.00 in the AirBART fare box when you board. If you don’t have a ticket you can purchase a round-trip ticket at the Coliseum station for $7.60. or an OAK travel pack online that includes shuttle tickets. Proceed upstairs and take a San Francisco, Daly City or SFO bound train. It usually takes 45 minutes to take the AirBART shuttle and BART to San Francisco. Make your trip easier; purchase your BART tickets in advance.

Getting around San Francisco
San Francisco is criss-crossed by a network of buses, cable cars and light rail vehicles. AGU encourages all meeting attendees to use these public transportation options, whenever possible. To help you plan your trip, comprehensive information on public transportation from each of the Fall Meeting hotels is now online. Details on all of the city's transportation options can also be found in one place at 511.org. The integrated website allows users to plan trips, create itineraries and find up-to-the minute transportation information from anywhere in the Bay area.
Convention Center Shuttle Bus Service
Shuttle Bus Service will be provided to assist Fall Meeting attendees traveling between conference hotels and the Moscone Convention Center. Shuttle service will be provided from the following hotels: Grand Hyatt San Francisco, Handlery Union Square, Hilton San Francisco Financial District, Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, Hotel Abri, Hotel Monaco San Francisco, Hotel Nikko San Francisco, Hotel Serrano, Hotel Triton, Mark Hopkins InterContinental, Parc 55 Hotel, Prescott Hotel, San Francisco Marriott Union Square, Sir Francis Drake, Villa Florence Hotel and the Westin St. Francis.
Shuttle schedules will be posted at the above hotels and the Moscone Center. The hours of service are:
