Hotels, Travel & Local Information

Travel & Transportation

Make sure to visit the Travel and Transportation page about how to get around Iguassu Falls. Also, download a map of the city, which shows the locations of the meeting hotels and various restaurants [pdf]. Restaurant phone numbers and addresses are also posted [pdf].

Daily flights to Iguassu Falls are limited; in order to obtain your preferred itinerary and save costs, book your flight today! It is also preferred to reserve airport transportation to your hotel via the local vendor since public transportation may be limited. The name of the airport is: International Airport of Foz do Iguaçu. Details are located at the bottom of the following web page.

Instructions for attendees who have reserved transportation/transfers from and to the airport:

Arrival at Airport: Transportation and signs will be awaiting passengers upon arrival. Drivers will have a passenger list to confirm names; however, it is encouraged that you bring transportation confirmations with you.

Departure from Hotel to Airport: Passengers should be ready 2 hours prior to the scheduled flight. Front desk staff of each hotel listed on the AGU Housing page will have a list that includes the times of the flights and departures from each hotel. Please be sure to check this information prior to your departure date. Drivers will have a passenger list to confirm names prior to departure from the hotel.

Health Information

It is essential to have health insurance in Brazil, as hospital and medical fees can be expensive. For most regions of the country, including Iguassu, vaccinations are not required; however, the yellow fever vaccine is only recommended for all tourists who plan to visit the Amazon rain forest and Pantanal. Vaccinations must be taken at least ten days prior to arriving to Brazil.

Humidity = 80 percent
Monthly rain = 110mm (lower than annual average)
