Eligibility & Requirements

  • Student must be a first time attendee of an AGU meeting (this will be verified).
  • Applicant must be a current student member of AGU or have applied for AGU student membership two months prior to the meeting date. Join AGU, or Renew your membership today.
  • Online abstract submission deadline is
  • Applicant must be first author and presenting the paper/poster. Submit your abstract prior to filling out the travel grant application and make note of the Abstract Reference number, which is required in the application.
  • Applicant must pay his/her own pre-registration fee.
  • Recipients are required to submit receipts for claimed expenses up to the amount of the award by .
  • Recipients are required to submit a brief (<300 words) report of their experience at the meeting.
  • A supporting letter from your research advisor or supervisor is required.
