Jessica Morrison is a Ph.D. student studying actinide mineralogy in at the University of Notre Dame. She has a B.S. in geology from Middle Tennessee State University where she began studying journalism before turning to rocks. Jessica completed her Mass Media Fellowship at the Chicago Tribune this summer as a health reporter. She covered health recommendations for at-risk populations, discrepancies in vitamin D testing and advances in cancer research. Once she finishes her Ph.D. in May 2013, Jessica will be seeking gainful employment as a science journalist. She has her sights set on Chicago, Washington, D.C. or NYC.
