The Breakfast for Students is a complimentary networking event for undergraduate and graduate students with the leadership and its Sections and Focus Groups.

Education and Student Lounge
Education and Student Lounge

The Education and Student Lounge provides a gathering spot for students and educators, with daily discussions regarding education issues, resources, and early career information.

JA08 Family Science Day for Eos
Exploration Station

Exploration Station is a family science event held during AGU's Joint Assembly and Fall Meetings. The general public is invited to try out hands-on activities related to all aspects of Earth and space science, from using Slinky toys to demonstrate seismic waves to building their own spectroscope. AGU's Education department sees Exploration Station as a way to open the doors to communities who may seldom be exposed to science and for the general public to meet scientists and enjoy fun hands-on activities. If you would like more information about attending or exhibiting at a forthcoming Exploration Station, please email education@agu.org. If you would like to register as an exhibitor for the Fall Meeting 2009 Exploration Station, please use this form [PDF].

GIFT Workshops

Geophysical Information for Teachers (GIFT) Workshops allow science teachers to hear about the latest geoscience research from the scientists making the discoveries, explore new classroom resources for their students, and visit exhibits and technical sessions of the AGU meeting for free.
