The role of dissipation in the cutoff in Taylor's hypothesis for rainfall correlations in space-time is generalized to a wide class of possible stochastic rainfall models. Some important implications of this generalization are discussed for the development of statistical rainfall theories, particularly as they pertain to scaling.
