New Push to Update Geospace Radiation Models
Lucent Technologies, Murray Hill, New Jersey, USA
NASA's Living With a Star program sponsored a Fall 2004 meeting to address how to construct new electron and the proton models that can be used for contemporary design problems in Earth's radiation environment. The previous AE-8 and AP-8 models were created during the 1960s and 1970s and have not been systematically updated over the past 20 years since new data and methods have been available.
