You Can Make a Difference to G-Cubed!

You can help determine the scientific quality of papers published in G-Cubed and determine the future direction of this maturing journal, which is published by the Geochemical Society and AGU.

The AGU-GS Joint Advisory Committee for G-Cubed is looking for dynamic, well-organized scientists with high editorial standards and strong leadership skills to serve as editors for G-Cubed. Successful candidates will be individuals able and willing to stretch beyond their own areas of specialty so that a wide range of science is published in G-Cubed.

Two editors are being sought in the general areas of geophysics and low-temperature geochemistry to succeed Editors Peter van Keken (term ends 2008) and Laurent Labeyrie (term ends 2007). Applications from all countries are welcome to ensure that the editorial team will have geographic diversity. The use of electronic communications means that scientists anywhere in the world can serve effectively as editors. Applicants should be respected members of the community, independent-minded, and even-handed. Editors must be willing and able to make tough but fair decisions in a timely manner.

As Editor you will:

  1. handle the review process, ensuring fair and timely reviews, and have full authority to accept or reject papers, and
  2. seek out stimulating papers for inclusion in the journal.

The co-publishing societies are especially interested in attracting papers in newly developing areas and assuring that readers of G-Cubed receive the best and most timely information possible.

A search committee will evaluate prospective candidates and interview a small number of highly qualified applicants. The selected editors will be appointed for 4-year terms.
