requires experimental data assessing UV effects versus quantified exposure
to biologically weighted irradiance,
for comparison with current or predicted natural irradiance levels.
Commonly, the effects of UV are reported as a function of cumulative
exposure (here referred to as dose), in an analysis called a survival or
dose-response curve.
