AGU actively informs and engages its members on issues of science policy so AGU scientists can be involved members in political processes. Our website showcases the ways that you can be involved — sign up for legislative alerts, write to or visit your legislators, join AGU's Committee on Public Affairs, or spend one year working on Capitol Hill as a Congressional Science Fellow. There are many ways to make a significant political impact for the science community.

Get Involved in Public Policy!
There are many ways to participate at the federal, state and local levels. Here are some things you can do to get started:
- Sign up for AGU Science Policy Alerts, which provide brief descriptions of legislation or other news at the national, state, and local levels affecting the geophysical sciences
- Get to know your Congressional delegation
- Develop a good relationship with key Congressional staff
- Make friends with your university federal relations director
- Participate in Congressional Visits Day
- Become a Congressional Science Fellow
