Federal Agencies Want Your Ideas
5 March 2010
ASLA 10-05
Agencies across the federal government were issued an Open Government Directive in December 2009. As a result, these agencies are “open for ideas” and are requesting your input. These Open Government Plans will serve as a roadmap so that each agency can become more transparent, participatory, collaborative, and innovative. In regard to science, the Obama administration has stated its commitment to making more government data available to the public and to encouraging citizens to become more involved in their government. Currently, datasets are available and NASA has made much of its global climate data available. Federal agencies are encouraging everyone to join the conversation at the following websites:
- Department of Commerce
- Department of Energy
- Department of Interior
- Environmental Protection Agency
- National Aeronautics and Space Administration
- National Science Foundation
- White House Office of Science and Technology Policy
Ideas will be accepted until 19 March 2010.
