Virgil A. Frizzell

Dr. Frizzell was the 12th AGU Congressional Science Fellow, working  in the office of Representative Norman Mineta from 1988-1989.

Dr. Frizzell came into the Fellowship with 18 years of experience  working with the U.S. Geological Survey, where he conducted geologic research, including investigations into the geology of the Nevada Test Site (NTS) and the nuclear waste site at Yucca Mountain.  Dr. Frizzell holds a B.A. in geology from San Jose State University, an M.S. in geology from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. in geology from Stanford.
