AGU weekly newspaper Eos now online for journalists

WASHINGTON—As of today, the world's largest organization of Earth and space scientists is making its weekly newspaper Eos available online to journalists. Eos offers timely articles, news items, and other material of interest to the full range of Earth and space scientists. The newspaper, a broadsheet, reports on scientific activities, significant geophysical events and discoveries, and current scientific controversies. Eos has been published by the American Geophysical Union (AGU) since 1919, initially as a journal and, since 1979, as a newspaper issued every Tuesday.

Starting with today's issue, members of the news media who have previously registered with AGU for access to scientific papers cited in AGU press releases may download the current Eos. To download the 2 December issue, please click this link: http://www.agu.org/journals/eo/eo0849/2008EO49_tabloid.pdf

Others who wish to register with AGU, please contact Peter Weiss (pweiss@agu.org, +1 202-777-7507) or Maria-José Viñas (mjvinas@agu.org, +1 202-777-7530).

AGU will issue a weekly alert that the new Eos is available online for download. Only the current Eos issue of Eos for that week will be available and only the full version of that issue—not individual articles. (For back issues of Eos, please contact Peter Weiss or Maria-José Viñas.)
