The Council of the American Geophysical Union adopted a new position statement, "Human Impacts on Climate," at its meeting in San Francisco, California, on December 12. This statement replaces "Climate Change and Greenhouse Gases," adopted in December 1998 and reaffirmed in December 2002.
The new position statement will be released at a press conference in Washington, D.C.
