  • Nominations for the AGU 2009 Medals were due by 15 March 2009.

  • Session Proposals for the 2009 AGU Fall Meeting were due by 12 June 2009.

  • Nominations for the 2009 Geodesy Section Award are due by 31 August 2009 (extended to 30 September 2009).

  • Abstract Submissions for the 2009 AGU Fall Meeting were due by 3 September 2009.

  • Congratulations to:
    • Richard Ray (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD), elected AGU Fellow for 2009
    • Don Chambers (University of Texas at Austin), winner of the 2008 Geodesy Section Award
    • Charles C. Counselman III (Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA), winner of the 2008 Charles A. Whitten Medal "for the development and use of systems to receive and combine Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite signals to determine positions on Earth's surface of these receivers and the orbits of the satellites to extremely high accuracy."
