Announcements:

Congratulations to Kelly Benoit-Bird, the 2008 Ocean Sciences Early Career Award recipient! She will be accepting the award at the Ocean Sciences luncheon on Tuesday at the AGU Fall Meeting.

We are pleased to announce that the Sverdrup Lecture at the AGU Fall Meeting will be presented by Professor Rana Fine of the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, University of Miami. The title of the lecture is "Chloroflourocarbons: The Ocean's Inadvertent Canary". (Thursday - 1020-1120, room 3008)

There is an opportunity for young researchers to attend the Marine Geoscience Leadership Symposium, March 23-27, 2009 in Washington, D.C. Application deadline 1 December.
