AGU embraces the global community and welcomes diverse leaders from around the world, representing various identities, voices, and perspectives. List any identities, voices, and perspectives you would bring, including but not limited to nationality, regional representations, racial and ethnic backgrounds, and any other identity you feel comfortable sharing.

I look forward to bringing in the leadership experience that is rich in African perspectives typical of developing nations where prevailing conditions and policies pose great challenges to development of science. I have served as the first elected President of the African Geophysical Society (2012-2016) and led a couple of scientific cooperations across the African region. I had served on AGU’s Global Engagement Committee and the Space Physics and Aeronomy Basu U.S. Early Career Award Committee. I served also on the United Nations New Experts group on Space Weather and some other international professional bodies. Since 2019, I serve as the convener of annual series of International Colloquium on Equatorial and Low-Latitude Ionosphere held in Nigeria. I also serve as a regular member of the International Scientific Organising Committees of several international conferences in many countries. I am involved in a number of scientific bodies such as the International Union of Radio Science (URSI), Scientific Committee on Solar-Terrestrial Physics (SCOSTEP) and hope to bring my diverse experience to bear.
