Global Environmental Policy

This seminar will cover linking earth system changes to policy actions and how earth system observations provide the right platform at the right time. Speaker Michele Betsill is a professor of political science at Colorado State University and a leading scholar of global environmental governance. Her research on non-state and sub-national actors has expanded knowledge of who participates in setting and implementing rules to address climate change from the global to the local level and across the public- and private-spheres.

The AGU Sagan Lecture series is sponsored jointly by the Biogeosciences and Planetary Sciences Sections of AGU and aims to provide perspectives on astrobiology and public engagement on critical issues which transcends boundaries of disciplinary research and planetary boundaries. These lectures topics encompass, integrate, and synthesize multiple disciplines in a unique fashion to explore and to expand our knowledge of life without boundaries.
