A discussion with atmospheric scientists about the variety of career paths in academia
Webinar

Atmospheric scientists hold a variety of positions in academia. For example, scientists with graduate degrees may work in university administration, as a research associate, or as a professor at a community college or primarily undergraduate institution. The goal of this webinar is to introduce early career atmospheric scientists to various career paths in academia, including how to find these positions, what skills are needed, and what the everyday responsibilities are. The panelists will be Christine Wiedinmyer (Associate Director for Science at University of Colorado Boulder), Anne Perring (Assistant Professor at Colgate University), and Loretta Mickley (Senior Research Fellow at Harvard University). Additionally, some background on the differences between the classifications of US universities, the tenure system, and the differences between private and public universities will be discussed.

Registrants may submit questions for the panelists.
