The schedule at-a-glance will be available early August.

The deadline to submit a proposal for scientific workshops, town halls, Union and scientific sessions has passed. For further assistance, please contact the scientific program team.

Conveners and organizers who submitted a proposal for #AGU21 will be sent notices of acceptance on 9 June. Notices will be sent from the email address: [email protected].

Town hall and workshop proposal notifications will be sent in early August.

#AGU21 is offering some of the session formats listed here to foster and encourage discussion across the meeting.

Abstract submissions open on Wednesday, 16 June. The abstract submission deadline is Wednesday, 4 August, 23:59 EDT.

There will be no exceptions to this deadline.

Yes, there will be an additional abstract fee. The abstract fee is separate from the AGU membership or meeting registration fee.

All authors, including invited authors and students, are required to pay the abstract fee unless they are in low/middle-income countries.

AGU Fall Meeting 2021 will be both in-person and online so authors and attendees can customize their participation. Some may choose to be 100% in-person or online while others may choose to do a mix of both.

AGU expects only fully vaccinated people will attend #AGU21 in person in New Orleans. If you are not fully vaccinated (two weeks after the last required shot), please plan to attend online.

Yes, oral, eLightning and poster discussion sessions can have a mix of online and in-person presentations. AGU expects only fully vaccinated people will attend #AGU21 in person in New Orleans. If you are not fully vaccinated (two weeks after the last required shot), please plan to attend online.

ALL abstracts submitted are subject to acceptance and scheduling in a virtual session (sessions may be live streamed and/or reccorded for on-demand viewing). When you submit your abstract, you can indicate if you are prepared to only present virtually or if you are comfortable and have no preference presenting either virtually or in-person (hybrid).

If you decline the recording waiver when you submit your abstract, the abstract (if accepted) will only be scheduled in a poster session.

In order to submit an abstract, the author must be a current 2021 AGU member or a member of one of our affiliated societies. Special exemptions were excepted until 21 July 2021 for individuals who are not Earth and space scientists, or who are members of co-sponsoring/affiliated organizations.

Yes, upon acceptance, the submitter will be charged an A/V fee to support costs associated with AGU hosting the town hall.

AGU will charge workshop attendees an additional fee to attend each individual workshop. These fees will be posted in the coming months.

Only those individuals who are attending or presenting at the meeting are required to register. More information on the meeting registration can be found here.
