Session Overview: Want to help your students/mentees/early career scientists grow into impactful, action-oriented careers? Want to engage more in applying your own science to policy and management, but don’t know where to begin? In this Town Hall participants will explore a variety of methods for engaging in the policy space such as critical skill building (e.g. communication), career opportunities, working with decision-makers, and different methods for involvement (e.g. civic engagement, nonprofits). This session will involve a panel and interactive discussion via Poll Everywhere or similar interface, followed by a short networking session with the panelist and other experts working at the marine science-policy interface in diverse capacities.
