Cuisine

“There is this integrity and foundation that's already established in the Bay Area specifically for culinary innovation.” - Stuart Brioza, Michelin Star Chef

Whether you’re looking for the best locations for a vegetarian meal, vegan dishes, or craving seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf, San Francisco offers many delicious dining opportunities. Discover some of the most amazing international fare including Indian, Asian, and French.

Arts and culture

Pack your walking shoes and be prepared to make memories in San Francisco with your colleagues and family. The city offers a variety of arts and culture whether you’re interested in museums or other attractions. Visit the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA). As one of the largest U.S.  museums of modern and contemporary art, SFMOMA hosts art by Frida Kahlo, Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol, and Julie Mehretu. The International Art Museum of America, located just minutes from the Moscone Center, hosts a diverse collection from ancient Chinese calligraphy and Impressionist European paintings to contemporary sculptures and paintings.

Or, try something different and ride a vintage streetcar through the city. You can visit the San Francisco Railway Museum for an intimate look into the city’s rail transit history and to see first-hand the  positive impacts streetcars and cable cars have made.

Sustainability at the Moscone Center

The Moscone Center has long set the standard for U.S. convention centers in recycling and diverting material from the landfill. Nearly 2 million pounds is diverted annually, and 13 percent is donated to local non-profits. A composting program in the kitchen and across public areas contributes to sustainability efforts at Moscone.

In addition, the Moscone Center sits in the heart of the city's urban area, with convenient access to local and regional mass transportation. It is also within walking distance of nearly 20,000 hotel rooms.

AGU will once again team up with BART, the local transportation system to provide attendee discounts to and from the airport, offering another way to reduce your local carbon footprint.

Among many accomplishments, the center has been awarded the Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Award, State of California, Green Power Leadership Award, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Department of Energy, and the Special Congressional Recognition, U.S. House of Representatives.
