Proposals are invited for topics across a broad range of scientific disciplines including diversity, inclusion and ethics; open and fair data; new technologies; engineering and design; and science communication.

Scientific Sessions

Scientific session proposals are allocated as oral, poster, or eLightning sessions after abstract submission.

These 90-minute sessions cover topics of broad interest that resonate with the entire Earth and space science community and include a mix of invited panels, presentations, and moderated discussions.

These sessions focus on interdisciplinary topics and convergent science themes of interest to a broad audience. They often have a creative and dynamic format that encourages attendee engagement and may include a mix of in-person and online presentations.

Town Halls

These one-hour sessions are best for collecting feedback or raising awareness and help government agencies, academic programs, special projects, and other focused interest groups deliver updates and gather input. Formats include presentations, roundtables, or panel discussions.

Learning Workshops

Proposed by the AGU community, these workshops are designed to give participants opportunities to develop relevant skills and knowledge and how they can apply those skills and knowledge in their own contexts. All workshop proposals need to include a description, intended learning outcomes, and a plan for participant engagement.
