Currents form. They flow. Build. Strengthen. We see this too, in the work of our global scientific community. Fittingly, our theme for the Ocean Sciences Meeting 2026 (OSM26) in Glasgow is Creating a Current of Community. A current, and its collective, continual movement, represents the constant advancement and persistence of the ocean sciences community, as we move forward together to discover new findings and solutions to many of the world’s problems. We know that without an invested and enthusiastic community to support it, science comes up short. The meeting is a vibrant and welcoming place for all in the ocean sciences, where attendees not only gather to share research, but also to build connections, support each other, and to truly create a community that will last far beyond OSM26
