Registration and housing is open. All attendees are required to log-in or create an AGU-universal account to access the registration and housing site.

Important Reminders

  • Attendees are encouraged to register for the meeting by 14 January 2026 (23:59 EST/03:59 +1 GMT) to take advantage of the early bird registration rates offered.
  • All attendees, including presenters and chairs, must register for OSM26 to participate in the meeting.
  • Review the registration policies prior to registering for the meeting.

All registration fees must be paid in full before receiving credentials to access the meeting in person or online. OSM accepts payment via credit card, check, or wire transfer. Check and wire transfers must be received by 15 January 2026. When making a payment, please include the name and registration number of the registrant.

Cancellations

Written requests must be emailed to the OSM Registration Center. Registration cancellations received by 14 January 2026 will receive a complete refund. Cancellations received between 15 and 21 January 2026 will have a $50 USD processing fee deducted from their refund. No refunds will be issued for cancelled registrations or ticketed events after 21 January 2026.

Indigenous & Community Leaders

This form is to apply for a no-cost registration and/or abstract to the 2026 Ocean Sciences Meeting. OSM offers free registration and abstract waivers to scientists of Indigenous cultural heritage worldwide and non-scientist community leaders. This registration applies to both in-person and virtual attendance.

Last day to receive waived abstract fees: Monday, August 11

Eligibility & Process:

  • Membership in an Indigenous community, which is recognized as a sovereign right established through self-determination and community acceptance (Anaya, 2004, cited in David-Chavez and Gavin, 2018).
  • OR a non-scientist representing their community’s interests in environmental, Earth, geoscience, or related fields. Community leaders who are not scientists can be Indigenous or non-Indigenous.
 

Reduced Cost Registration

Individuals who currently reside in developing countries are eligible to attend at no cost. These countries are defined by the World Bank as low income (Tier 1) and lower-middle income (Tier 2). If you reside in one of these countries, please use the registration portal to take advantage of the no-cost registration.

Secondary/High School students are eligible to receive reduced or no cost two-day registration. Students will be required to upload at least one type of accepted credentials in the registration portal that verifies their current enrollment in a K-12 school. Anyone under the age of 18 will also be required to upload a child waiver form signed by their parent or legal guardian. All uploaded documents will be reviewed by OSM staff. Once reviewed you will receive confirmation via email that your registration has been approved or denied. See below for types of accepted credentials.

  • Student picture ID card with current school year listed.
  • A letter from a teacher, headteacher, or principal dated within 30 days that denotes current enrollment in a K-12 school.
  • A transcript or report card that lists currently enrolled classes.

OSM will offer reduced and no-cost registration to K-12 teachers/informal educators. These persons are required to upload at least one type of accepted credentials in the registration portal that verifies their current employment status as a K-12 educator or informal educator to receive reduced registration. OSM defines an informal educator as someone who is not associated with a school but is instead associated with a scientific museum, center or planetarium whose job duties involve creating educational materials for students. The uploaded credentials will be reviewed by OSM Staff. Once reviewed, you will receive confirmation via email that your registration has been approved or denied. See below for types of accepted credentials.

  • Confirmation of employment on school/institution letterhead from the principal, administrator, or direct supervisor.
  • Scanned copy of teacher identification card with expiration date or current school year clearly noted.
