A mission to the interstellar medium has been discussed since the establishment of NASA. New studies of a pragmatic Interstellar Probe launching in the 2030’s have been fueled by series of recent events: Voyager 1 and 2 have uncovered a range of mysteries, but their exploration will end in a few years. IBEX and Cassini have revealed unexpected data, to be further improved by IMAP. New Horizons flew by the furthest object ever explored. The Heliophysics Decadal recommended an Interstellar Probe, stating a need for new propulsion technologies that is now being overcome. Interstellar Probe offers remarkable opportunities for understanding the global nature of the heliosphere. KBO flybys and imaging of the circumsolar dust disk provide critical insights in solar system formation. Beyond the dust disk, the window to early galaxy formation is uncovered. This session seeks discussion on science enabled by an Interstellar Probe, its mission design and programmatic aspects.
