James B. Macelwane Early Career & Student Breakfast
Reception
Meet and eat with AGU section leaders, many of whom wrote your textbooks! Seating is limited to the first 400 attendees. The Macelwane Early Career and Student Breakfast will provide an opportunity to
interact with AGU Fellows, past and present Macelwane Medalists, and other mentors.
Two exceptional keynote speakers will offer guidance for early career success. This
year’s keynote speakers will be AGU President-Elect Susan Lozier, Dean of the College
of Science at Georgia Tech and a renowned ocean scientist and mentoring innovator,
and Steven Davis, one of the 2018 Macelwane Medalists and a transdisciplinary
geoscientist at UC-Irvine. Julio Betancourt, 2018-2019 Chair of the Macelwane Medal
Committee and a Scientist Emeritus with the U.S. Geological Survey, will serve as the
Master of Ceremonies at the Breakfast. Arrive early as seating is limited to the first 500 attendees.
