Abstract Submission Fees Explained: Regular, Student, and Waived
As you prepare your submission for AGU25, it’s important to understand the abstract submission fee structure. The costs and fee waivers can differ depending on whether you're a seasoned researcher, an early-career scientist, or joining from a lower-income region.

What Is the Abstract Submission Fee?

The abstract submission fee is a required, non-refundable processing charge for all abstract submissions, including invited submissions. This fee supports the infrastructure and administrative work needed to bring the global scientific community together at AGU25.

A few key points:

  • The fee is not tied to acceptance of your abstract or your attendance at the meeting.
  • Refunds are not available, even if you withdraw your abstract.
  • Edits can be made to your abstract at any time before the submission deadline; do not withdraw and resubmit.
  • Each abstract submitted requires its own fee.
  • This fee is separate from AGU membership dues and meeting registration.
  • Payment must be made by credit card; wire transfers and purchase orders are not accepted.

2025 Abstract Submission Fees

  • Regular Fee: $70 USD
  • Student Fee: $40 USD
  • Waived Fee: $0 for researchers from low-income and lower-middle-income countries, based on the World Bank 2025 fiscal year income classifications. If you qualify, the system will automatically waive your fee during submission. If you believe you qualify but the system did not indicate so, please contact our support team.
