Can I Submit on Behalf of Someone Else? Read This First
The abstract submission process for AGU25 emphasizes authorship transparency. That means you cannot submit an abstract on behalf of someone else—even if you’re a co-author, collaborator, or session convener.
Key Policy:
- The person submitting the abstract is automatically listed as the first author.
- The first author can serve as the presenting author or designate a different presenting author.
- All co-authors must have agreed to be listed before submission.
- The first author must be a current 2025 AGU member or request a waiver if you're affiliated with an affiliated society or you're a non-geoscientist.
This ensures clarity, accountability and proper recognition for all contributors.
If you’re a convener, note that you can invite up to two authors to submit to your session—but they must do the submitting themselves. Ensure they are aware of the author requirements and policies.
Why This Matters:
AGU25 celebrates scientific connection. These connections must be authentic and author-led. This policy safeguards the integrity of the scientific program and ensures that each abstract reflects the voice of its primary contributor.
