Join AGU for Days of Action

As scientists, we must unite to support sustained investment in Earth and space sciences and call out the dangers of cutting research funding and weakening the U.S. federal workforce.

Through AGU Days of Action in 2025, our community has made a powerful impact:

  • 545 emails sent to Congress
  • 335 calls made to congressional offices
  • 193 congressional meetings held
  • 131 AGU members met directly with their Members of Congress
  • 6 webinars and 2 in-person events hosted by AGU

Together, we’ve shown how investing in science protects communities and drives solutions. Let’s keep the momentum going.

AGU Days of Action Congressional Visit Day 2026

AGU is excited to host a special Congressional Visits Day (CVD) event on 21-22 April 2026, bringing scientists directly to Capitol Hill to advocate for the value of science. Federal policy decisions have a direct impact on science funding, research priorities, and the role of science in society—and scientists have a critical role to play in those conversations. One of the most effective ways to influence science policy is through in-person meetings with Members of Congress and their staff.

AGU Days of Action: Navigating Today’s Science Policy Landscape

Today’s policy decisions will shape the future of research, education and science. In this webinar, AGU’s science policy team lays out the current policy landscape, its impacts on science and how the broader scientific community can support science in the months ahead.

We cover updates on federal science funding, where we are in the FY26 budgeting process and what we anticipate for federal agencies and non-governmental institutions. Our experts also cover what this means for researchers, universities and students, as well as how the scientific community is stepping up to meet these challenges. Panelists share practical tips for effectively navigating the shifting landscapes and making your voice heard.
