Dr. Darrow will present work from recent epidemiologic studies in the United States examining acute effects of heat waves on preterm and early-term birth. The presentation will also touch on epidemiologic designs used to study these acute relationships, disparities in heat vulnerability across population subgroups, and physiologic responses to heat that may connect to biological mechanisms in pregnancy.

Lyndsey Darrow is a professor at the School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics, and Environmental Health, University of Nevada, Reno
