When Is Membership Required?
All first authors, including invited authors, must be AGU members or members of affiliated societies. If you do not have a qualified membership, you will not be able to submit your abstract.
Who Can Request a Waiver?
You may request a membership waiver if you:
- Are an invited author who is a non-geoscientist
- Are a member of an affiliated society or organization
Deadline to request a waiver: 16 July 2025
Note: Waivers do not include AGU membership benefits and do not waive the abstract submission fee. Request a membership waiver or view the list of affiliated societies.
Special Programs Offering No-Cost Registration and Waived Abstract Fees
AGU will cover fees for up to 100 individuals in each of the following categories:
- Community Leaders: Active, trusted community representatives (not researchers studying a community)
- Indigenous Participants: Open to individuals who self-identify as Indigenous anywhere in the world
To receive a waiver code for abstract submission, apply by 16 July 2025.
To receive a no-cost conference registration, apply by 31 July 2025.
