Anti-Harassment Initiative
AGU is committed to eliminating harassment, discrimination, and bullying from the Earth and space science community.

About AGU’s Anti-Harassment Initiative

In 2017, AGU was among the first scientific societies to define harassment, discrimination, and bullying as scientific misconduct, recognizing that unsafe and unwelcoming environments drive people out of science and weaken the entire scientific enterprise.

Harassment and bullying affect researchers and students at every career stage and in every setting, from academic departments and laboratories to field sites and professional meetings.

The AGU Ethics and Equity Center brings together policies, reports, tools, surveys, and educational resources to help researchers, students, scientific societies, academic departments, and institutions take meaningful action toward safer, more welcoming workplaces.
