SCIWS5 Using R and Python for Environmental Data Science
Workshop
Many academic researchers in environmental, hydrologic and ecological sciences rely upon a single coding language, R, for statistical analysis. However, much of the non-academic data science community and many researchers in the larger earth science community use Python as their primary research language. This skillset divide limits the tools available to scientists using big data for research purposes across the diversity of AGU membership. This workshop aims to help the AGU community become more comfortable using R and Python languages together in the same workflow.
